❋ Lily Rice (b. 2003) is a visual artist based in Rochester, NY.

❋ Lily explores fantasy within a broad range of contexts. Figures assuming roles of power and violence, bodies existing with interjections superimposed atop their forms. Her work aims to interrogate broader societal relationships to fantasy, questioning the ways in which it distorts our perception of social realities and historical pasts.

❋ The paintings are built out of layered oil paints on sturdy wood panels. Sometimes, Lily's figures are plasticized- the paint is sprayed onto the backs of 6-feet clear acrylic sheets, building up life-sized, hyper-sexual figures that attempt to assimilate into their surroundings using their materials transparency.

❋ Lily received her BFA in New Media Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and has been included in exhibitions with the Memorial Art Gallery (2025) and the Little Theater (2025) in Rochester, NY.
